My son, Doug, is forever with me in my heart.
*****************
Among my treasures, in a box gone through today,
I found a curly, golden hair strand from your head . . .
when you were a youngster--years before you were dead.
Wish you could be here again; we would hug and play.
Memories linger, all the wonders, it was fun.
Never knew there could be someone love me like you!
Your absence, missing you, leaves me crying tears . . . blue.
Love carried me away . . . my one and only son.
Among the treasures, in my heart, is undying love.
Guardian angel watching over me--my guide;
despite temptations in righteousness I’ll abide
until I’m beside you in paradise above.
Enveloped in your arms--angels sing lullabies.
You’ve rank in your territory . . . I am the child
led down gold streets with animals meek and mild.
Dying, illness and worries gone . . . nobody cries.
