Homeless Penguins

For thousands of years
they have lived on the Ice
now their lives are on the skids
as the Ice keeps melting

For thousands of years
they have lived in the desert
now their lives are being blown apart
as the Oil keeps diminishing

For thousands of years
they have lived in the ponds
now their lives are nee deep
as predators move in

Everyone is homeless
Looking for the promised land
that flows with milk and honey
And a life Oh so grand

For thousands of years
we've fought over who
owns what where and when
Not one of us is safe

We've murdered, razed, taken captive
raped land,women alike
poured pollution into every orrifice
atmosphere and space

Still we hope for a solution
when in reality the planet is dying
we've one hope left
prepare to evacuate this earth

Everyone is homeless
Looking for the promised land
that flows with milk and honey
And a life Oh so Grand

Man just dosent get it
this earth is not our home
we are just here to make a choice
The lords house, or beyond the thunderdome.

The earth is His Footstool
we are caretakers of this place
we mucked it up
times nearly up........

The Ice is melting and the Penguins are homeless.

The penguins are not the only of us on this planet about to be without homes...but at least they are dressed in their classy attire for the trip to a new home...;) Ed

Here the north pole has only a few years left. The worlds 75% polluter still refuses to admit to their killing of the Earth. Prefering to worship their God. Called the Dollar. I been thinking of reposting my poem 141-1. Never realised how prophetic it was. Yet still they're in denial. Not the peeps but the looney tunes in power.

A most timely and à propos message, Ch'erie. Sad but true and, although it is said that it is never too late, without change, it I am afraid it soon will be so. Thank you. Love and peace.

Though no one knows when, we always kwew it was coming since it was fortold. There was always the evidence that if we didn't follow Creator's plan we would suffer the consequence. So no one should be surprised. Yet we always ooh and aah when things happen. Guess it's only human;-) However as you say, and I agree, Our hope is in Him, not in this dying world! Excellent poem Ch'erie!

Eileen

We've 'mucked it up' all right, and as caretakers of this planet, we humans have sadly done an abysmal job. And many humans today still refuse to acknowledge that global warming is a dire reality, and that our actions are largely responsible. I also fear Mother Nature will now continuously lash out at us (more horrific hurricanes, etc.)

Ch'erie,

WOW!!! you made me feel like there was nothing left to live for. Thanks for the love. (lol) When you stop to actually think about it, it is really frustrating. We just might as well put our heads between our legs and kiss our dear a---s goodbye. Very thought provoking write, my friend. please excuse the brashness of my writing.

You're right about that. Hope I don't live to see the end of it.
