Accepting Christ yet living like the Devil
We may accept him in our heart
though we are more than a universe apart
We go to church each and every week
but we'd rather die than have a tramp in our seat
We shout Hallelujah he's coming again
when asked to help sick neighbours sadly refrain
We give our offerings pay our tithe
if Red Cross comes knocking no one is alive
We cherish freedom plead that justice prevail
yet shrink in horror if asked to visit one in Jail
All day long we spout the golden rule
who are we kidding who are we trying to fool
We believe in Christ yet will not follow
give away our worldly goods? Huh we'd rather wallow!
We all love friends embracing coffee and chat
but gossiping tongues cause others to fall flat
We proclaim Jesus love say we're doing his bidding
won't forgive others, who do we think we're kidding
Who do we serve, is it Christ or Satan
reality check, while the Lord is still waitin!

Matthew 26:31-46 NIV Speaks of the sheep and the goats.
When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will seperate the people one from another as a shepherd seperates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left." Then the King will say to those on his right,"come, who are blessed by my father; take your inheritance, the Kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer him," Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger, and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? "The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me!"
"Then he will say to those on his left, depart from me, you who are cursed into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me."
They also will answer, Lord, When did we see you hungry or thirsty, or a stranger or needing clothes, or sick, or in prison, and did not help you?"
He will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for ME."
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.

This is a butt kicker I know, and I'm kicking my own as I write, reminding my ownself of the warnings the lord has given us well in advance, and of the happiness or the shame. It's our choice!
I pray we make the right one, and be chosen to stand at his right among the sheep.

Thank you--needed a reminder, being human, I fail many times; BUT: He is worthy and faithful to forgive me if I truly repent. He's been working on me, doing better. :) Well done, yet again!

The worst part of it, I believe, is when those cynical of Christianity in the first place, look at us as examples, and then see more of the world than they see of the Christ, and go away laughing and saying I told you so!
Still ... this is a great exhortation, not only for those claiming Christ, but also for anyone who is curious.

We fall short of the Glory of God, as it says in the Bible, but if we call on Him, and repent of our sins, our sins are instantly forgiven. This is why we are human; we are not the ones who died on that Cross, and we are going to make mistakes. We live in a world full of sin and temptations, and I am finding out that even though I claim to be a Christian (and I am), I am nowhere near perfect. Thank GOD I have a Saviour who forgives me when I mess up! Very well done write; brava!
