The picture displayed is one that is obviously of my face lol, but the body belongs to Titian's Masterpiece" The Flora"

I have a friend in England, a Welsh man :) who is good at superimposing, and just for a laugh he doctored the Titian, with my face!! Yo Rob ( Vanner).Till now I couldn't really find any particular use for it, except displayed on my MSN, Bio pic for laughs you know the deal, as I love that period of Art and the old Masters! However, after living through several ages of fashion and fads, Men who tire and attire us, middle age made into a nightmare, not to mention the shocking repercussions to the young, need I say more...I decided to have my say about how the fashion Guru's of this world have been reeking havoc with the female mind and body... I hope this gives some confidence to women readers, with a hearty here here from acknowledging Men...Can we claim back our womanhood!Or is it lost forever? You decide... I know what I think.

Most important, this is not a poem against Men in general, but an overview of those whose minds were and are somewhat....effiminate and controlling. Most blokes ( Ordinary Blokes) don't care to mess with the woman's attire, shape, knowledge etc, for they are happy just being blokes.

Renaissance Woman

Where once she flowed pon mists of creations essence
voluptuous curves be her cradles of comfort and suckling
nay didst she e'er distress o'er appetite
lest her serenity becometh discontent
hence composure rallied to the an Old Masters Art.

Neath gracious gowns succulent limbs resided
dimpled yet ample for the comforting
crushed rose perfume permeated her prescence
children snuggled into warmth unbridled
quickening her man to rest, and revere his garden!

A nasty wasp flew in..........

"Breathe in, more more, you don't want to appear plump,
I can't breathe" they wailed and moaned
fanning frantically for every gasp of air so deprived
swooning in agony though revered as petite
innermost organs mangled to dysfunction
childbearing a plague called "Fathers bereft, children left"

Flapping around such sweet release...

Flesh for fantasy feathers for flair
dressed to kill shoes for wear and tear
breasts flattened for youthful gain
beaded necks neath cropped hair
rouge reddened cheeks his eye to attain...

Throughout the ages she's been defamed...

Wars, depresssion claim victories
in dress codes far above the knee's
rights to vote though rights to dress
lost neath a freakin moguls mess
mirrors cleverly disguised to depress

Rock n Roll is here to stay....

Hoopla skirts bobby socked shoes
lips n eyelashes screaming sexual hues
drugs to rehabilitate the mind
days and nights filled with sexual kind
mothers shrieking for children blind

nightmare of nightmares age of Aquarius
who knows where we are, are we us
peace baby hand me the pipe
straws aren't for drinking, they give us the hype
"All the leaves are brown, gettin us down

Rock n Roll gave way to...

Scream dreams shattered themes
paisleys, stripes, scarves and bogun hipster jeans
shoes that rocked us near into hell
while fiendish fashion houses rubbed hands well
to fixated to care or tell

Someone said we are unfit and fat....

Machines, aerobic dreams
tights so tight with G string seams
sweat it sweat it move those hips
keep the rhythm grinding teeth and lips
spread those legs and pump those tits

Waste evry dimple cellulite is crass
streamlined perfection muscle bound ass
gut crunchies to please sergeant deft
popping pills to shed whats left
Karen died when anorexia arrived

Have we learned anything...

Trends come and trends go
rehash mish mash go with the flow
pressure pressure is our countenance
plastic surgeons laugh at their bank balance
while catwoman thinks she looks fit for show

Does anyone know where women went
what they mean or represent
slaves to fashion, fads and fame
if you're not stick thin you aint in the game
take that post baby tummy outa our face

Defiance has overcome us to date
we don't care we'll eat from the plate
pile it on leave us alone
go back to you're golden fashion throne
while we eat us out of house and home!

I've only scratched the surface here....

Injustice to womanhood is our plight
can we reclaim it do we have to fight
who had the nerve since time n memorial
you were supposed to protect be territorial
not deface the face of Womankind

We've gone to far to ever turn back
renaissance woman is clothed in sack
throwing ashes upon her head
living a life of mortal fear and dread
her smile of loveliness femininity lost
her children's lives seduced to cost
her Man thinks she's out of her mind....

But who's the ratbag who started this mindless.

tirade of fashion trends, took the herbs
became the alchemist
God gave Eve the healing knowledge
it got burned out in inquisitors foliage
neath a faggot smoked to choked control
ashes left, to lose the troll!

Look at her and look hard
she is gone, just an oiled memory charred!

this in one of the most extraordinary, all-consuming poems i've read ... i feel like i've been on an historical locomotive traversing a track of psychoanalytic proportions ...

Fan-damn-tastic! Hit the nail on the head, then drove it deep.
So much worth commenting upon, wouldn't know where to start.

Wow Ch'erie ...

What a thought process here. I'm impressed. I've never been exposed to this kind of writing from you.

You have somehow melded acerbic wit with a unique sort of historical timeline, and its flows along like creative honey.

Brava Aussie Poet!

Trend by trend, decade by decade, whim by whim, fickle by fickle, beat by beat, just some of the time determining factors you use to chart the lot of women - though you limit this to trends, but the message is the same.

Neath gracious gowns succulent limbs resided
dimpled yet ample for the comforting
crushed rose perfume permeated her prescence
children snuggled into warmth unbridled
quickening her man to rest, and revere his garden!

Then 'a nasty wasp flew in' - well another wasp
An infestation of the social science degree has been Marxism and a branch of feminism that owes more to misandrism than promoting sex compatability. These ideologies - both one and the same actually - have women (men taken as read) as nothing more than economic units. Categorised thus, the integrity of womanhood, how she feels and what she longs for is simply ignored. The verse inserted here is anathema to a Marxism that claims to promote imancipation. Yeah, try telling that to the former Soviet woman dressed in Stalinace serge and the Chinese women dressed in the Shop at Mao perpetual 1949 'fashion.'
A clever, entertaining yet touchingly caustic piece of cynical writing.

A long work. Loved the first two verses, Wordsworth maybe? Then came the meat. A vegitarian I am, but ate all of it with relish.

Outstanding work Ch'erie! You are something with that pic woohoo what a seductive look.YOu go gorl;-)...As for fashion, I never let it dictate what I wear or how I look. If there were more indiviuals in this world instead of lemmings it would be a better place. But alas the trend is everything to vain people.Don't get me wrong I love fashion, but it has to suit my taste, not just because everyone is doing it.
