Words have weight, it's time we value their worth.

Poem Artwork

I'm going quiet

The noises in my head are silent
Forgotten what words sound like in a sentence
How phonetics play their song
How the letter spell the alphabet
How some words can get the message wrong

I'm hearing static
The background molds into a song
Forgotten what noise sounds like
How Ill advice falls on deaf ears
How criticism slips right through
Without harming the one who hears

Seeing the other side of the coin
Where words hold value
The walls have ears
Yet they hold no judgement
Where expressions are in sync
And actions are louder
Where u don't need a voice to be heard

I am slipping into the silent world of deafness. It can be a blessing when one wants to go to sleep. However, the kindly AI of closed captioning is making me able to read with my still good eyesight almost everything that is said or required of me including criticism. I welcome criticism to either counter it, or accept it as a way of improving myself.

As you can see, your poem has given me a lot to think about and report here.
