Your Name Is Lyric

A babe was born, one cold dark night
As northern winds danced in flight
New to breath, new to air
Her mother kissed her head in prayer

Come my little one, snuggle warm
Wave those fists, as you perform
Release those cries, make strong your voice
Release your tears, and mark your choice

For I've not much to give to you
Except a mother's rosey view
For I hear song behind your cries
And see the future in your eyes

Your voice will be a velvet cloak
The ears of all, will crave it's stroke
With music as unique perfume
Across the miles, to many rooms

So cry my little one, practice well
This ballad first, with more to tell
Yes I've a mother's rosey view
Your name is Lyric,my song anew

A beautiful lullaby to a child that springs from the mother's own heart and soul. Both mother and child bonded and doing well in this poem! She has her mother's eyes and voice. Lovely as per u, darlin. Happy New Year to you and yours, dear heart. :)) xx
