Sitting at the shoreline
squinting eyes that seek
vast across the lady lake
a shimmering mystique

With endless stars reflecting
upon the rolling waves
spins a yarn within the soul
yon memories were made

To stroll upon the sand hills
with sand between our toes
yon eagle soars above the lake
for morsels sought below

And so it hath been written
our names upon the sand
I stood and cried for such is this
had never been so grand

Let naught the waters wash it
engraved it must remain
one-heart two names within it
scribed pyramids the same

So now my love I ponder
upon this fateful day
a memory born forever
etched ever to remain
