One day we were brought into the world, knowing love only as being what we had for our toys, family, and friends. Then, you meet someone who alters your conception of love, and you never know how you loved anything before because this kind of love is... ~Ellen Key~

Poem Artwork

He sat upon the mossy knoll overlooking the valley
the crispness of the air awakening him
cup of coffee in hand strong and black tipped to lips
washing over his tongue sharpening his senses

Indulging in the quiet of the early morning
a time he so relishes for himself amid serenity
the peace of nature when he can be one
with no intrusions of the outside world

Down below seen in the lushness of the green
along the riverbed there she stood,
as though thoughtful in what was before her
dipping a toe pensively into the water testing it

Withdrawing it and with the graceful swoop of a ballerina
pirouettes downward cupping water into her hands
rising up she throws the smattering of droplets left into the air
which fall upon her like glitter under the bountiful sun

He smiles rising up from the knoll where upon he sat
as the glitter of water falling upon her grasps his attention
he quizzically watches her as he strolls nearer
not wanting to disturb this vision of beauty afore him

And there she is the song, which stood within his dreams
the quintessence of beauty soothing his soul his siren
consumed by the fragrance of her as wafting waves
slowly moving upon the sandy shore soaking in

Intoxicated by the magic of her soul their eyes meet

This is full of grace, Lily. Two segments especially leap out of this poem for me: "...she throws the smattering of droplets left into the air," "And there she is the song," I just love "And there she is the song." ~~ Diana

Carol, You are the most magical of souls and a romantic woman who writes of romance with words that echo in our hearts and dreams knowing that each one of us, (those that are looking) will find
their twin flame...
