Looking into his eyes was like looking into the ocean, beautiful and bright yet full of danger...

Poem Artwork

Behind the drapes she does naught stir
holds her breath to be naught heard
Desire within though it must wait
how much more can this lass take

Back to the wall she slides on down
tries to mask her saddened frown
forbidden love ah how she aches
and to thee hold I'd quiver and shake

Do not stir ye little mouse
for ye but work within this house
yet master sits with pen in hand
lean and strong he looks so grand

Naught for me I but a maid
of lower class I have this shame
I know me place where I belong
it’s just so hard to remain strong

So dreams I take of me and thee
forbidden love betwixt us plea
I look at her she’s such a shrew
my love for thee, I wish ye knew

To admire and love from afar is both beautiful and painful. Excellent visuals Carolee I hope she obtains this love.

I have no doubt that most of us have had feelings for someone without them knowing, I know I do!

A wonderful expression of forbidden love,
a burning existence in the mind of the person(s) concerned.
How many hearts have burned with a secret desire this way

You've expressed it so very well Carol, so beautiful again

Unrequited love, it's so enticing and ever so dangerous...
I do a lot of Shakespeare plays, I feel as though this could be one of those stories in the making..
Great work as always!

Peace, love and light,
Amber

History in the making! I wonder how many times this has played out. The simple chemistry of opposites attracting, women wanting power and security to feather their nest, and men liking youth and vulnerability.

You had me on the edge of my seat, wondering what she would do next to get his attention.

A most delicate expression of love, the words, the senses, the allure behind hidden of veils, hugs.

Ah, to gaze upon the one you love and not be able to "make a move". My heart breaks for her!

Love ya!

this is such a well written statement of love not to be where both feel only the pain of wanting to be what can not and you found the perfect visual to accompany it

Ahhh . . . This so reminds me of the British television drama series "Upstairs, Downstairs." Although I seem to remember there was some physical contact between the highbrow and the servants. This was done especially well, Carol.
