Notwithstanding the greatness
Of Heaven and Earth,
Their transforming power
Proceeds from one source.
Notwithstanding the number
Of all things in the world,
The ruling of them conforms
To one and the same principle
Of the general concord.
Notwithstanding the multitude
Of nations, the rulers of them
Are their leaders whose courses
Should proceed from the qualities
Of their virtues and be perfected
On the regular basis. When it is so,
It is known as the national flourishing.
