I want you to know one thing.
When I look at the misty dawn
Thru the green twigs of summer,
Which are weeping just in front
Of my first-daylight-window,
I start to recall your silhouette
Vanished in the fading shadow.
When I tread near the fire
On the weightless ashes that stir up,
As if on command, all at once,
Or touch the brittle body of a billet,
It reminds me your subtle singing
Which I felt by my shaken body,
Sitting by extinguished campfire.
All this carries me to you,
As if everything that exists:
The salty air, the fair weather,
And tailwind, were tiny ships
Sailed toward that isle of yours
Where you're waiting for me
Through the mist of reverie.
Just yesterday, I remarked about how the bitter melon growing outside my window as I exercised had rainbow droplets of due on every point on every leaf. Precious water at a time when long hot days are bringing near drought.
