Minnie and Grace are my son and daughter-in-law's two Miniature Schnauzers. They've gone camping for a week and left their two dogs with my wife and me.

Minnie and Grace Two little girls, Minnie and Grace, One’s made of leather, the other of lace. The oldest is black, and the youngest is gray, They’re just so different, what more can I say? Grace is the quiet one, Minnie is loud, So it’s easy to pick who’s who in a crowd. They both remain quiet when they are at rest, It’s difficult then to say which one’s the best. They’re here for a visit, they’re staying a week, God, stifle the loud one, and bless that, the meek. Grant me the strength to make it today, Through this but the first of their endless week’s stay. ©2013 By David Lee Thompson

IT'S REALLY AMAZING HOW ATTACHED WE CAN BECOME TO A PET. WE HAD ONE...A LOVELY CALICO LADY NAMED, CANDI(CANDY). WE HAD HER FOR 18 YEARS AND THERE WAS NOTHING TEMPERAMENTAL OR NASTY ABOUT HER. SHE WAS SO SWEET AND AFFECTIONATE - SHE'S JUMP INTO YOUR LAP AND LICK YOUR FACE LIKE A PUPPY. THEN SHE STOPPED EATING, GREW FRAIL, LOST HER HEARING AND ONE DAY...SHE JUST PASSED. MY DAUGHTER HAS HER ASHES. MINNIE AND GRACE...I BETCHA YOU WERE 'HEAD OVA HEELS' BY THE TIME THEY LEFT...HUH? I'M JUST MESSING WITH YA, DAVID BECAUSE I KNOW NEW PETS ARE NOT EASY TO GET USED TO. AT THIS POINT,I WOULDN'T EVEN TRY TO HAVE A PET, OF ANY KIND...IT'S HARD ENOUGH TAKING CARE OF MY SELF(SMILE)! YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE A BLESSED DAY! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

They are both sleeping on the area rug at my feet as I write this note. I guess they like me well enough to hang around.
