Howdy Girlz and GHOULS!

Home alone, just relaxing, watching SOPRANO DVD's, and got this here 'bug' - an urge to write, right?

So I pecked out this Ditty, perhaps not too Pretty, but maybe a tad Witty?

Won't know til I hear from you Cats and Kitties!

"Once upon a Time, in a Town full of HONS..."

Poem Artwork

I Was Borned!

Copyright: August 25th, 2007 - Tom Hyland

Once upon a Midnight Dreary,
Labor pains made Mom Weary.
Then, after the clock struck One,
Out popped me - a screaming Son!

T’was back in Year Nineteen and Forty,
Beaming Dad was feelin’ Sporty!
Yep - out of the Oven came the Bun,
Early Morn, Day of the Sun!

On the Twenty-Fifth day of Caesar Augustus,
Bet Mom mussed and fussed, as she cussed us!
Both the Father, the Sire, and his new Offspring,
Cute lil red Monkey, with a matching Ding!

Two without such a preposterous appendage,
Had come before - Thirteen and Fourteen - their Age.
Surely, I’m joking, that can’t be right!
Yep - the Parents had Fun - one Wintery Night!

Sixty-Seven Years past now, of that Infamous Day,
Songs of Joy, Tears of Sorrow, have all melded Away.
We all had each other, for many a Sunlit Day,
We Sang, and Danced, made Merry While We May!

Grand-Kids, Great Grand-Kids, they had them All,
Lived Life in Merriment - had a Ball!
But when Life was O’er, and they returned to the Sod,
They were greeted so Well, by a Friendly, Smiling God!

There’s an old Tune, that Dad used to Sing,
A Bitter-Sweet Song, with a melancholy Ring:

“Smile the While, and Kiss me sad Adieu,
When the clouds Roll by, I’ll come to you.
So wait each day, and Pray for me,
‘Til we meet Again!”

So now, the Dear Four, my Family of Love,
Are waitin’ for me, in Heaven Above.
But, I ain’t just ready for Prime Time Yet -
So, keep the Beer Cold, and your Tonsils Wet!

Yes, Some Day will come, we know not the Hour,
Just as sure as Pancakes are made out of Flour!
So, Whistle a Tune, and Howl at the Moon,
A Hug and a Kiss, from a Pretty Young Miss -
Might make this Ole Codger… SWOON!

Happy BIRF-day to Me…
Happy BIRF-day to Me…
Happy BIRF-day Dear TomKat…
Happy BIRF-day to Me!

Go have some BEER ---
Then go have a PEE!

J-PAL to ALL.

It looks like you had fun celebrating your birthday both online and off. I hope you sang and danced as well as wetting your whistle. Congratulations, love, and many happy returns of the day.
