Protected by the fortress walls
Of snow capped mounts and forests dense
A tower stands with steadfast light
Protecting ships from snares of night.

Crashing waves and jagged shores
The waters rage so dark and cruel
A battle fought by man and sea
The Light! A peace, tranquility.

And like the ships our lives are filled
With dangers, strife and challenges.
We seek refuge from our sufferings
The safety that a friendship brings.

You, my friend, have been that Light
And thus my love for you has grown.
You’ve offered hope - unselfishly
You’ve opened up your heart to me.

How blessed to have these precious gifts -
My friend - a treasure undeserved.
The tower - I gaze upon with awe,
