We tend to go through life
In pursuit of the expected.
We are inundated with strife
Without being fully protected.
Our lives do have their miseries,
They follow us like evil shade.
Our days are filled with worries,
That fill our hearts with plague.
We know the myth of miracles,
They encourage our fantasies.
We listen to promises of oracles,
Intended to lessen our miseries.
We hope miracles will happen,
To lift us from our sad despair,
To interrupt the daily pattern,
As a complement to our prayer.
Why don’t we see all the miracles
We encounter almost every day?
Why don’t we escape our perils?
Listen to what they have to say.
The shy bud previews the flower,
The tree bleeds its ancient sap.
Woodpeckers knock in the bower,
Squirrels hide nuts in a winter trap.
Summer birds fly south by sheer instinct,
Butterflies drink nectar in delicate sips.
Chickens lay their eggs in a safe precinct,
Bees kiss blooming flowers with eager lips.
The day itself is a miracle of some kind,
As is the mysterious blanket of the night.
We ourselves are a miracle of the mind,
We seek fulfillment in the Divine Light.
Miracles surround us as always before,
We only need to awaken our third eye.
Inside of nature lies a mysterious door,
There to open and never question why.
We have much to learn from nature itself. Miracle do happen every day it is us who neglect to see. Opening that mysterious door can make us turn an ordinary day to a day of awe. Well done dear John. Sending my blessings your way xo

I feel sad for the rat racers who live in an artificial environment that attempts greatly to avoid any serendipity or missteps except, perhaps the mysterious winning of a game or reaching an all time personal best as some kind of miracle in an otherwise, rather artificial and dreary life.

For those of us like you and I who take time to examine and watch for the serendipity of life all around there are little marvels everywhere to behold, even from the smallest of creatures. I wouldn't call them miracles because they normally happen in nature anyway. I guess, the miracle is, when we observe them, like the birth of a mammal like us.
