Who in the world has asked for the day?
How it comes about, what does it say?
Opening the mouth of the night’s jaws,
The dawn light creeps in on silent paws.
For a brief moment, the sun sits on the world,
Honoring the earth like a banner unfurled.
Fragrant shade now forms in quiet groves,
Splashes of light gleam in the pond’s coves.
Behold the light that doth defy deepest space
With bestows benevolence upon the human race.
To banish the malevolence of darkness for a time,
Shards of light turn to shadows of shredded twine.
To behold the rising sun is to learn of many things,
Ancient mystery in the heart of what the sun brings.
IT CERTAINLY IS A BEAUTIFUL THING TO BEHOLD! ITS PATH IS A WONDERFUL MYSTERY WHICH WE SOMEWHAT UNDERSTAND...WITH DEPTHS THAT ARE GIVEN TO US TO STIMULATE OUR ADORATION FOR THE CREATOR. FINE WORK, JOHN, ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
I love the way you described the dawn creeping in like a stealth cat! Oh, yes! There is ancient mystery about the sun. I enjoy watching, "Zeitgeist. The Movie".....Check it out sometime. Anyhow, I enjoyed this piece of fine work immensely!!
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Love ya!
