If you could look into my heart,
What is there that you would see?
Thousands of suns rising and setting,
Countless moons with no forgetting.
Stars that twinkle our deepest hopes,
Desires that have us climb steep ropes.
Hills and valleys that put us to the test,
Waves of emotion that peak, then crest.
Knotted cords tied with hurt and regret,
Smoldering desires I could never forget.
A plate of glass shattered and broken,
A blade of grass standing tall, my token.
Without you, I will always be incomplete,
United together, we will our destiny meet.

Sentimentality aside, when I look into a heart, I see gaps called ventricles, tubes and muscle. But if I could truly look into your brain, I would see all of these things and more.
But I do appreciate the fine sentimentality that you display in this poem.
