You are not the only one to feel completely alone,
Wondering about the sin for which you must atone.
I have had the feeling of suddenly being abandoned,
Panting like a dog, on my hands and knees landed.
We can at times feel lost, but soon wait to be found,
Someone will pass you by, someone is always around.
Loneliness may creep into the heart, but not to stay,
The feeling will pass and soon enough go far away.
Failure may happen to us and surely takes its toll,
But success will come our way to enrich the soul.
An abandoned child, a mother, the aging, the old,
Wind blows where it will, draped in misery’s fold.
May we never be abandoned under heaven’s hood,
Floating aimlessly on the open sea like driftwood.
UNDER THE HOOD OF HEAVEN WE ARE NEVER ALONE AND NEVER ABANDONED BUT FOUND AND MIRACULOUSLY KEPT...BY ITS COVERING. THERE ARE NO FAILURES UNDER THE HOOD OF HEAVEN AS...'ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD' AND, THOUGH AT TIMES IT MAY SEEM WE ARE FLOATING AIMLESSLY...WE ARE EVER GUIDED, ON A DESTINED PATH...TO OUR ETERNAL HOME. HEAVEN'S HOOD. THANKS FOR SHARING, JOHN, ENGAGING...INDEED. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Perhaps it is the most horrendous feeling of all. No matter what the misery faced, being alone is probably the worst.
Reminds me of a man who fell through an open manhole not far from where I live here in Houston. Apparently the flooding had forced the manhole out of its place in tall grass by the freeway kept the man from seeing the hole and he fell to the bottom and broke his ankle. He called out for six days before someone heard him and came to his rescue. There must've been water in that storm drain or I don't think he would have made it six days without water. He did eat a snake he found as his only companion.
Wouldn't it be awful to be abandoned? So sad. That's why we must check on our elderly neighbors who may need a hand with something or need something from the store. 'Can't tell I was a Caregiver, can ya?
I like this one, it speaks to many, including me. WE have all experienced that feeling of abandonment at some time or other, and many are still reaping the effects of it, your poetry is always enlightening, have a great day John xo
