What is our life but a patchwork quilt,
A running river as it accumulates silt.
What is our destiny but yarn unravelling,
A crooked path that sets us travelling.
An endless series of mountains to climb,
With a few brief rays of the sun to shine.
At times, just stirring dust in our tracks,
As we carry a heavy burden on our backs.
Let us not forget to mention the sorrows,
To burden our days with sad tomorrows.
We each have a patchwork quilt unique,
A snowflake that mimics what we seek.
Beckoned forward by our fitful dreams,
Hoping that life will turn out as it seems.
We set forth on the journey by firm will,
At journey’s end, I will be seeking still.
I ENJOYED THIS WORK AND AGREE WITH IT ALL BUT THE LAST LINE. AT JOURNEY'S END, I THANK MY GOD THAT MY 'SEEKING' WILL BE NO MORE... FOREVER. AMEN. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Beautiful! Yes, each patchwork is unique and they all join together to end up with a fabulous quilt........lot's of time and work just like that ball of yarn and life. You sparkle it up here and there with some rays of the sun and a gentle snowflake....... So enjoyed!!
We only get to see the full picture when the patchwork is complete. Then from a distance, we can appreciate the stiches we sewed in. Up close and personal. Lovely poem, nice quilt. xo
