The old poet has no remorse,
Only a little regret, of course.
In pinning feeling to the page,
He seeks to emulate a sage.
He sees a light in every weave,
Sorrow inspires him to grieve.
As each moment does unravel,
His words resound like a gavel.
Find wisdom in the world’s face,
Raw emotions in the human race.
He travels from North to South,
Enters the door of Hell’s mouth.
To taste all the miseries therein,
To know the recompense of sin.
Then he travels to Heaven’s gate,
Until the appointed hour will wait.
All experience he wishes to taste,
One poem at a time, with no haste.
To interpret what the senses reveal,
Unleash secrets our minds conceal.
THANK GOD FOR THE 'OLD POETS' THAT HAVE NO FEAR, BARS OR LIMITS...THEY GO THERE AND WE ARE GIVEN PRICELESS 'GIFTS', WHEREBY WE FIND OURSELVES ...BETTER OFF FOR THEM. WONDERFUL ODE TO THE 'OLD POETS' OF YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW. I JUST SPENT A LITTLE TIME WITH WADSWORTH, THANKS FOR SHARING, MY FRIEND. I WILL KEEP THIS ONE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
yes, it sounds like a spontaneous trick of the poetry -- to reveal the whole gist all at once and now! Thanks the heavens, this spirit is transmissible from generation to generation. Thank you, John for being with us, and among us, fellow-writer from a high poetry. Cheers, alex
There is much to write about for someone with poetic sensibilities. The instincts and perceptions of a true poetic mind are always engaged and mindful. As it is, to have great poets, though, there must be great audiences. Enjoyed your thoughts. Peace... r
