A Crack of Light

At first, I see total darkness,
A darkness of another kind,
Missing any wild hope of light,
A darkness found in the mind.

I remember when I let you go,
The feeling of my heart broken.
Yes, how we reap what we sow,
The harshest words ever spoken.

I would see your beloved face,
In the clouds, flowers, and trees.
I could never keep up the pace,
Always fell on my bended knees.

I feel as 10 thousand miles away,
Do you hear my voice, my name?
Are these feelings here to stay?
Is my repentance uttered in vain?

I didn’t know what’s in your mind,
I thought you felt as I did, the same.
Our love was once the rarest kind,
When you happily heard my name.

But all things must come to pass,
Love lived, love lost, love found.
Do not wait for anything to last,
All on a pathway, outward-bound.

The darkness always has a door,
To open it reveals a crack of light.
As all seems lost and even more,
Light will betray the darkest night.
