Forget Not Our Genius

One word that we have come to know,
Without fully knowing what it can sow.
Our genius lies in the den of wisdom,
A forgotten aspect of our little fiefdom.
Our genius rejects no undue thought,
As it seeks treasure in all we sought.

Knowledge lets facts have their just say;
Intelligence always finds a suitable way.
Our emotions open to a world of depth;
But our genius carries its burden of heft.
Genius does keep us from becoming fools,
With stupid antics that unravel from spools.

Innate perceptiveness will keep us calm,
Reasonableness ever watchful as a balm.
Why pretend to bud like a flowering lotus,
When you can herald spring as first crocus.
Why adorn yourself unduly in satin and silk,
Such cloth draws the heat to make you wilt.

Why speak loudly when softer tones will do;
Only consider faint whispers of morning dew.
Why exhibit anger at the smallest slight,
When patience offers much more delight.
Genius prefers silence than noisy thunder,
Saying much more by leaving us in wonder.

Forget not our genius and the way it shows;
It reveals much more than everyone knows.
