Poem Artwork

I always travel light,

Fleeting moments alight.

Endless days on the fly,

Endless nights on the sly.

In the wind but a feather,

Ready for all weather.

Keeping fit in life’s grove,

Always at home on the move.

Solid shoes for my protection,

Never fear any form of rejection.

Take no prisoners, no ransom,

Value blessings as they come.

To treasure what I know,

But drag nothing in tow.

Amazing places I have seen,

Subtle wisdom I have gleaned.

Give everyone their just due,

Remember fondly friends I knew.

As I say, I always travel light,

The end of the road now in sight.

When my end finally comes,

Ready to add up my sums.

Owe nothing to my enemies,

Owe everything to my friends.

Offer up anything left to pay,

In good faith, quietly slip away.

You describe life as it should be lived. As I've heard, "Ya can't take it with you!". We need to shake off the excess so we can enjoy what nature has to offer, I say. 'Enjoyed so much!

Love ya!

leaving us much to think about in terms of travelling light. The good news is you will go out with no more than you came into this life with, but you will leave us with the richness of your presence.

Cheers,
Dan

Having traveled a bit, I understand that your course in life has crossed many lands and cultures, providing you with the rich understanding of the human experience. I believe you found, like I have that human nature is very, very good. What little bad there is, is not worth worrying about.

Looks to me as though you traveled much the same as I did for a little over two decades. Travelin' light taking what the world would give me . . . food, women, shelter, sometimes all three. I was rebellin' for sure. Enjoyed reading your poems for sure.

Just right, John. I like the melding of
light and lightness; a return for us
to stardust, perhaps.

Interesting contemplation and introspection, looking ahead as well. Feels like an introduction to you. Well, nice to meet you! And thank you for the beauty of these words.
