I THINK RESPECT IS SOMETHING EACH AND EVERY PERSON DESERVES JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS. I MEAN, WE DON'T KNOW PEOPLE REALLY...WE MEET A FPERSON TODAY AND HARDLY KNOW WHAT THEY DID YESTERDAY(AND TO BE SURE, THEY ARE NOT GOING TO TELL YOU). NOW, IF A PERSON IN SOME WAY EXHIBITS ACTIONS THAT WE KNOW OF THAT DIMINISHES, IN OUR EYES(SMILE) THEIR RIGHT FOR RESPECT, I AM LEFT WITH THIS DILEMMA; TO NOT GIVE THEM RESPECT WILL TAKE AWAY SOMETHING FROM ME, SO...DO I WANT TO 'GO DOWN' THAT HILL...OR PASS ON, STILL? You have had a wonderful chord with this one. While some people are charismatic and don't have to earn respect for reasons that are psychologically rather difficult to fully understand, most of us have to prove respect. I guess the first step, is putting ourselves in the other person's shoes before we take that step.
