-- All Will Be Well --

John Herlihy

I hear the clock ticking,

But I know not the hour.

I hear the birds singing,

But I know not their power.

I feel my mood filling,

Thoughts have their way.

Emotions an onion peeling,

On this and every day.

In all patience I wait,

I know not what will happen.

The unknowing a kind of bait,

Uncertainty on my soul tappin’.

A bird came by its own command,

To land gently on my open hand.

Soon the knowing will arrive,

To feel within that I am still alive.

This simple gesture does volumes tell,

Now I know that all will be well.

Welcome back! These are exactly the words that I reassure myself with when my life goes into the toilet. You and Julian Norwich are very wise men.

As long as the birds fly and the words you pen sit high, all will be well. As long as you keep penning sentiments such as these dear John, you will also be fine. xo

WELCOME BACK, MY FRIEND...AND INDEED, I AGREE WITH YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY! FOR THE ONLY CONSOLATION THAT WE HAVE IN THESE SO SAD TIMES COMES FROM THE FAITH WE MUST CARRY IN OUR HEART, SOUL AND MIND; THUS, ONLY BECAUSE WE 'KNOW' BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT GOD IN STILL DEFINITELY IN TOTAL CHARGE...ALL WILL BE WELL! HABAKKUK 2:4 HAS COME SO ALIVE TO ME THESE DAYS! THANKS FOR POSTING THIS TIMELY MESSAGE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

A gentle, peaceful poem. I love black capped chickadees with their cheerful calling to one another, "Chickadee dee dee… Chickadee dee dee." As they search for worms under the surface of the bark of trees on a cold, clear winter day.

My partner feeds the birds every day, but they are very shy and don't even come close, except for the doves that seem less frightful. Perhaps it is good because this morning while exercising, a Cooper's Hawk that has been hanging around, I believe, from the corner of my eye, snatched a sparrow off our 6 foot cedar fence. After all this is the wild West, Texas… In suburban Houston.

In about five minutes, all was well and the birds were back feeding at the bird feeder.

When things like that happen, one knows all is indeed well. such is the beauty and mystery of nature.
