Some days,

I awake with a start,

I feel uneasy flutterings in my heart.

Some days,

I don’t want to wake up,

Just hide under the covers and shut up.

Some days,

My body feels as dry as dust.

I don’t want to do things I know I must.

Some days,

My mind is a raging fire,

Emptied of all but one single desire.

Some days,

Everyone is hard to please,

Other days, simply slip by with ease.

Some days,

I am walking a tightrope,

Other days simply go up in smoke.

Some days,

The hours are filled with longing,

Lost in a world with little belonging.

Some days,

I feel my old self missed,

The joyous wonder when first kissed.

Some days,

I am the pigeon, other days a dove.

The world seems hateful, where then the love?

Some days,

I wonder if I will see tomorrow,

While today seems only a thing on borrow.

Some days,

We would like to pretend,

That the day will never, ever end.

One day

Will arrive when I don’t awake.

My soul will then a new world create.
