-- Something Like Love --

John Herlihy

The full moon casts night shadows,

Under every leaf and blade of grass, shadows.

No, correction, the moon casts night glow,

Second-hand light that the sun did bestow.

There, far away, from the other side of the earth,

Inducing within a feeling that increased my worth.

I see no birds flying, but hear the air-brush of wings,

The breathless breath of the wind thru the reeds sings.

Her every smile speaks mirthful tales in prose,

Her sparkling eyes speak lyrical verses of poems.

Seeing her presence reminded me of her absence,

Feeling her absence brought me back into her presence.

Something now within, descended as moonbeams from above,

Something mysterious, something deep, something like love.

THAT WONDERFUL MOON, WHOSE GLOW ENCOMPASSES AND LEADS US TO SO MANY PLACES; BEAUTIFUL PLACES, MYSTERIOUS PLACES...PLACES FILLED WITH PEOPLE AND 'THINGS', SPLENDID 'THINGS' THAT REMIND US OF 'LOVE'. THAT WONDERFUL MOON...DOES 'EXACTLY' WHAT IT WAS CREATED TO DO! ENJOYED THIS ONE IMMENSELY, JOHN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

The presence of love is felt so lively and beautifully through the fabrics of your words - so skillfully weaved.

A very intriguing array of images and transformations bringing the reader to the exhilarating conclusion that love coming in so many iterations, one is never alone, certainly never without the possibility of love. Beautifully rendered, John.
