-- Soul of the World --
John Herlihy
The pond lies before us,
Inviting us there to wade.
The tree stands before us,
Inviting us into its shade.
The ladybug stands before us
Inviting us to look it in the eye
The bluebird stands before us
Inviting us into the blue sky
The clouds pass by overhead
Inviting us to into their shadow
Night shadows fill us with dread
As they creep into the meadow
The stars shine overhead,
Inviting us its world to imagine.
The moon shines overhead,
Inviting us its wonder to fathom.
The flower opens its lovely face,
Inviting the bee into its gaze.
Winter frost wraps the trees in lace,
Ethereal now in winter haze.
The forest stands before us,
Inviting us into its mystery.
The tree rings circle before us,
Inviting us into its history.
All of nature stands before us,
Its beauties to behold.
The soul of the world before us,
As its beauties of truth unfold.

Inviting us into its mystery.
The tree rings circle before us,
Inviting us into its history."
Reminds me of stories my mother (from Finland, here at 26) would tell me about the "holy groves".....yes, lots of history and you seem to know it well.
I enjoyed every single word, John!
Love ya!
