-- Rising and Falling --

John Herlihy

The miracle of birth,

Like budding springs rising.

The birth of awakening,

Like budding springs rising.

This feeling of hope,

Like budding springs rising.

This sense of warmth,

Like summer sun rising.

This feeling of lightness,

Like summer sun rising.

This feeling of fulfillment,

Like summer sun rising.

This meager poems,

Like autumn leaves falling.

These recent years,

Like autumn leaves falling.

These fervent memories,

Like autumn leaves falling.

These various successes,

Like winter snow falling.

These feelings of wonder,

Like winter snow falling.

This sense of peace,

Like winter snow falling.

First rising, then falling,

First living, then dying.

First falling, before rising again,

First dying, before living again.

The life of the seasons

In the seasons of life.

The cycle of life beautifully portrayed. I just noticed yesterday that her Chinese Lucky Tree has new leaves, just like her rodeos are thriving in this January temperate weather. In the fall I noticed that the squirrels had discovered that the bulbs left by the blooms on the Lucky Tree a food totally foreign to them, but now a staple.

The wonderful weave of synaptic threads of feeling, knowledge and wisdom. Plus, you make the passing of time, all the way to our crossing over, a period of junctions that allow Nature's reality to become something more than seasons: a resonant POV allowing metaphor to rise above the ordinary. Excellent, John.

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani

“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to
