A winter flower is known to bloom
That scorns spring.
A white-petaled flower in night’s room
That mocks the day.
Each of the seasons use their own hour
In a unique style.
Each displays their own special power
As they linger a while.
The winter flower braves the deadly season
Color amid the snow.
The night flower with its own reason
Its lantern light to bestow.
Both with a message powerful to say,
As winter and night make their way.

On the contrary, our Christmas again our Christmas cactus showed its red plumage right at the right time when the temperature in the desert often falls well below freezing during wintertime.
Similarly, mistletoe is prevalent and fully in fruit in trees where the parasite loves to have a symbiotic relationship with the trees' branches.
