-- Things That Matter --
John Herlihy
So much of the world touches our senses,
It matters not whether visible or invisible.
Revealing all its truth without any pretenses,
Creating an open circle in a universe indivisible.
All of nature spilling a cornucopia of creation,
With its sense of resurrection, no holding back.
The sunlight, the wind, the rain, all in celebration,
Even the night gives away its heart in darkness black.
The fog creeps ever slowly, hear its haunting horn,
Wrapping mountains and valleys in its tender embrace.
Not a whisper or breath, but living before being born,
Invading every nook and cranny upon the earth’s face.
Thank the rustle of the mind and its silky rhythms,
For producing such evocative feelings within the soul.
There trapped in the fading light of shadowy prisms,
The hint of a mystery with the power to make us whole.
Illusions of the world are but fragile glass that shatter;
The realities that lie within are the things that matter.

We are left with the beauty of what really matters...
Diana...
As far as our minds go, it would be wonderful if we had much less mental disease. But, for some strange reason, it takes a bit of mental disease to be as creative as some of our people are, even if they tend to expire early from excess they can't control.
