-- Ride, Boldly Ride --

John Herlihy

Over the mountains of the moon,

Over those craggy pinnacles of doom.

I will ride forth, I will boldly ride.

On the cresting peaks of waves,

Crashing upon a shore that saves.

I will ride forth, I will ride in pride.

Down into the valley of shadow,

Far beyond that bright meadow.

I will ride forth, I will safely hide.

On the wings of a noble eagle,

Enveloped in their feathers regal.

I will cling, I will tenaciously cling.

On the breath of a fresh wind,

From now until the very end.

I will set wing, I will happily set wing.

In the heart of a beloved song,

In a place where happiness is born.

I will sing, I will merrily sing.

On fluid, silky drops of rain,

That fall like hair upon the plain.

I will descend, I will freely descend.

Through all the galaxies of stars,

That roam behind Earth and Mars.

I will wink, I will mischievously wink.

Through the glorious prisms of light,

That defy the darkness of the night.

I will blink, I will rhythmically blink.

Through the hidden world of worlds,

Whose heart is surrounded by pearls.

I will abide, I will solemnly abide.

For now, I sit quietly at my window,

Beyond, the night awash in moon glow.

Into the light of darkness, I will bravely ride.

OH MY GOODNESS, JOHN...I ADORE YOUR LAST STANZA, INDEED! IT WAS A TOTAL, VERY UNEXPECTED, SURPRISE, BUT RELATABLE AND EMBRACED. I CAN JUST IMAGINE SITTING AT A WINDOW LOOKING OUT AT THE NIGHT SKY AND AND RIDING BOLDLY INTO ALL MY FANTASIES...BEFORE RETURNING TO REALITY HAVING IMMENSELY ENJOYED...THE RIDE! A FINE PIECE OF WORK, THANK YOU. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
