-- Soul Whisperer --

John Herlihy

I hear a whisper,

A soft note heard.

Down thru the ages,

Echoes of divine word.

A whisper of the spirit,

Since time immemorial.

The breath of a whisper,

Living for those who listen.

I listen, and again listen,

But I don’t always hear.

The ear at times clogged,

The whistle of another near.

This whistle sharp, insisting,

With the intensity of a spear.

Its lingering echo, persisting,

The Evil One inducing fear.

The true whisperer whispers,

I am the one thing needful.

I am with you wherever you are,

In night’s darkness, the North Star.

The soul whisperer whispers,

Of the one thing remarkable.

An eternal love in the space,

Within the beating of the heart.

The soul whisperer whispers,

Of the one thing peaceful.

The living breath of life,

Into the human breast I fill.

When I hear the whisper,

My heart rests content.

No matter what may happen,

I know what life has meant.

Listen to the soul whisperer and we may learn something of value. Any messages that come to us from the divine are meant for good.

I only hear whispering while daydreaming or dreaming at night. And it's usually me that's talking to myself and not something out of mind, out of sight. But it does speak with authority while keeping the tone very low. Unless I'm caught speaking my dream, no one will ever know.
