To treasure the first thing we see upon awakening,

To remember the last thing we see before falling off to sleep.

To see a stormy sea as a dying sailor may see it,

To see a timid deer as a child might see it.

Life is gathered together in small acts of kindness,

Mystery is gathered in a moonlit mountain stillness.

Loneliness is found in the emptiness of the heart,

Solitude is found in the fulness of a knowing nature.

I feel the love tracing the smile across her face,

I see the tear that burns down my saddened face.

To pursue a vision that is so much larger than our own,

To understand the mystery of life as truth and beauty sewn.
