-- A Breath as the Breath -- John Herlihy A breath as the breath, Breath of air, breath of the breeze, Enlivening and mutable, Its tender voice speaks with ease. A breath as the breath, Breath of cells, breath of the body, Invasive and infusing, Bestowing its rare live-giving quality. A breath as the breath, Breath of lungs, breath of the breast, Inflating and expansive, As ocean waves reach their crest. A breath as the breath, Breath of feathers, breath of wings, Held aloft, uplifted, The questing mind in searching sings. A breath as the breath, Breath of blood, breath of the heart, Throbbing and pulsating A tidal flow to arrive and depart. A breath as the breath, Breath of soul, breath of the spirit, In silence enriching, living, Patient seeking leads to ultimate finding.
