There are many things I do not want to know,

Never question what lies in wait for tomorrow.

I don’t want to know a friend will me betray

Let friendship thrive until arrives the fateful day.

I don’t want to know that this love will turn false;

Let me feel intimacy of this heart-pounding pulse.

I don’t want to know that this precious life will end;

Let me savor all the minutes and hours our lives lend.

I do not want to know the many variations of sorrow;

Let me take today as it comes, not worry of tomorrow.

I do not want to know of days filled with despair;

Let me face my difficulties with the diligence of prayer.

I do not want to know that some days I will feel lost;

Let me look forward to being found whatever the cost.

I do not want to know the exact day I will come to die;

For then all my minutes and hours will be a haunted sigh.

Some things I don’t have to know, some I don’t want to know;

Eternity I don’t have to know, the future I don’t want to know.
