-- To See Through the Eye --

by John Herlihy

,

To see thru the eye of the storm,

From a quiet place of infinite calm.

Encased in a womb before being born,

Hear sacred rhythms of a chanted psalm.

Threading thru the needle’s eye of day,

The thief of night flees the coming dawn.

Dawn’s light spread gently over the bay,

Thru stained-glass the day’s rainbow drawn.

Threading thru the needle’s eye of night,

Darkness as silence of an unsounded bell.

The day remembered thru the moon’s light,

As the mystery of stars their own story tell.

To see thru the eye of the needle,

Riding roughshod on the camel’s back.

Rite of passage in the heart of the humble,

To finally discover what we always lack.

To drown in the eye of certain doubt,

Hopelessly in an ocean of uncertainty.

Without ever realizing what life is about,

Lost in the realm of unfathomable mystery.

To witness thru the eye of certainty,

To see beyond the sun into the light.

Truth revealed in the heart of mystery,

To bear witness in the heart of the night.

To surrender to the eye of the One,

A reality that no falsehood can smother.

Thru the sun door into a new world spun,

Visions of beauty and bliss like none other.

THE WORD OF GOD IS FULL OF 'MAGNIFICENT POETRY'...SENT JUST FOR US. AND JUST TO THINK...ONE NEED ONLY 'CLOSE' THE NATURAL EYE TO 'SEE' THROUGH THE SPIRITUAL EYE TO UNDERSTAND IT. AMEN. GREAT WORK, JOHN! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

You have taken a difficult subject and created a mysterious: of what the eye sees or not. It is only recently through the National Geographic Channel, that I realized that the human eye is far more perceptive than any camera ever built. But even that great ability escapes us if we don't know how to use it.

And to think that our eye is operating in analog with chemical traces that excites the brain and create what we see, is mind-boggling.

Why didn't I see the eye of the storm?

You've given the word "eye" an insightful broadening of its meaning, that unexpectedly takes the reader into layered realms of uncommon thinking. The capitalization of "One" in the last stanza brings us full circle to the eye of the beholder's beholder. Kudos.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
