I know what it is

To want a thing that you must wait for.

I know what it is

Not to receive what you have waited for.

I know what it is

To seek for things but not to find.

I know what it is

To find things that I have not sought.

I know what it is

To have things I have not treasured.

I know what it is

Not to have things that I would have treasured.

I know what it is

To lose things that were important.

I know what it is

To keep things of no importance.

I know what it is

To long for the things that I miss.

I know what it is

How easy to forget things I don’t miss.

I know what it is

To have things and to hold.

I know what it is

Not to have things I will never hold.

I know what it is

To know what it is.

I know what it is

Not to know what it is.
