It sure is true in my case and your poem is a bit of ingenious writing the way you have gone through the phases of belonging so effortlessly.
For me, the premise of your poem makes a broader statement in the subtext by asking us to climb atop this handball and ride the court, knowing what goes forward, bounces, inevitably comes back to us in one form or another. If one lifts the living, breathing human out of the text, one is reminded how imminent Robots and AI as one's dearest, and perhaps in the long run, the most dependable entity for truth. It's possible. Now, we have to wait and see how miserable human judgment of others has to get before the non-flesh creatures of technology step in to either help solve, or destroy, the main word for me in your word journey: kindness.
