Loving, Losing, Missing, Finding John Herlihy Loving Offering yourself to someone as a gift Loved Being offered by someone a gift Wanting Desire overflowing at the brim Having Knowing I our desires but a whim Missing Absence and silence, someone gone Missed In your solitude you hear sweet song Lost A treasure that will never be regained Found A treasure that has forever remained Treachery The heart punctured by a spear Forgiveness The heart washed clean by a tear Anxiety A wave cresting near the shore Relief A way of breaking upon the shore - - - - - Copyright © John Herlihy Saturday 29 March 2025

I love the imagery projected from finding, losing and then, in the last line, anxiety relieved with the breaking of a wave.

Having true love around reduces anxiety greatly.
