Listening to What You Don’t Want to Hear

it looks like you could listen forever

and not hear something you wanted to hear

that another was not going to let you hear

it looks like you could sit there forever

listening to untruths you didn’t want to hear

instead of the truths another didn’t want you to hear

it looks like another was going to sit there forever

and never tell any of the truth you want to hear

when all the untruths serve their purpose better

it looks like another could speak on any topic forever

and not really say anything you want to hear

so many things the other didn’t care if you heard

it looks like you could stare at him forever

and not know something you wanted to know

that another was never going to let you ever know

it looks like you could listen to him forever

and not hear something you want to hear

because another was not going to let you hear

it looks like another could sit there and lie forever

and not tell you the truth you want to hear

because another preferred to lie their way thru

it looks like another could not tell the truth

this other told many lies that people didn’t want to hear

because they served his purpose to lie about

it looks like a person can speak forever

and say all the things they want to say

even if they don’t care that others aren’t listening

it looks like many people listen as if gob-smacked

listening to the con that you know is a con

coming from a person who thrives on conning people

and who expects you to believe the con

you listen all day to things not wanting to listen

wanting to stop listening to the magnet

that has you listening to what all others has to say
