Poem Artwork

Part III

In the ‘Harrowing Haircut’ Episodes

The word ‘Buddha’

Comes from a Sanskrit/Pali word

That means one who has Awakened

Or been Enlightened

After finally recovering

From my haircut trauma,

I’ve decided to embrace

A brand new karma.

Instead of bemoaning the fact

That I am now hairless,

I’m going to think positively,

And pursue a life quite careless.

I now plan to frolic about

In my chic new tunic.

It’s the latest fashion,

Imported from Munich.

My wife will now become

My impassioned love slave.

I will lounge about my home,

Doing whatever it is I crave.

Ah, a life of contemplation,

And extreme happiness.

Ah, a life with no worries,

Which I will surely not miss.

Even my pets seem to understand

That we will now serenely have a ball,

Since they, too, will lounge all about,

As my spouse caters to us all.

Little did my wife ever realize

How a haircut would change me;

Little did my wife ever comprehend

My complete and utter - ecstasy.

Ahhh…

“Baldy, wake up!

You have to walk the dogs.

And then feed all the pets,

They all eat like hogs.”

“Then take out the garbage,

It stinks something awful in here.

And brush your teeth, Mister;

Your mouth smells like beer.”

Alas, and little did I forlornly realize

That my Nirvana was but a pipe dream.

Wake up, indeed, you silly old fool,

Before you really hear her scream.

As my pets quickly scattered,

And I hauled out the trash,

I was once again stumped,

And I knew I had to re-hash.

To Be Continued…

Em, I seem to going backward in this ongoing saga, which is an altogether entertaining thing, actually. Ah, well, Eddy K.. I knew your "nirvana" would be short-lived... for one thing, hairless people need to keep moving, just to avoid chills in the air... Rebecca is obviously aware of this and gave you chores to keep you healthy, not to mention out of trouble! (grin) It won't last, though... your kind finds trouble on purpose, just for giggles... and that, my dear thing, is what i'm doing.. GIGGLING! Carry on... (Do you shine it? wax it? perhaps buffing is in order... you could paint flowers on it.. ) I try to be helpful when I can.. byeeeeeeeeeeee.. katy xox.

Hi Ed:

Hope you'll find the joy and contentment you seek for being bald. Interesting write.

Ah, being Buddhist myself, I see some flaws in your theory, there, oh great bald one, but as you seem to have enough problems of your own, I will not expand on them...you have yet to lose your sense of humor, although some lose that when they lose their hair...

Hope you truly find peace, contentment and enlightenment oh great bald one, maybe now that your bald you can frolic with the bald eagles with less of them noticing you are actually human...

Another enjoyable one, Ed, Peace thru Humor, Ed & Rufuz

I'm not sure Ed that I would try to follow that dream too far...It's one thing to be bald and a whole new concept being beheaded! I'm not sure the wife is going to go for that 'love slave' thing for an extended period of time! *grin*
You're too much! Lisa
