For reminding me

That I still had these

Vacation pics…

Wives have a certain perception,

About needed vacation getaways.

They expect to be constantly pampered,

And look ravishing – while they play.

Their heathen husbands, of course,

Are an entirely different type of breed.

 The words ‘pampering’ and ‘luxurious,’

Are not really understood in our creed.

We can pitch a raggedy tent most anywhere,

We can blissfully sleep out under the stars.

We can easily enjoy a smelly old outhouse,

And we won’t have any mental scars.

Wives, on the other hand,

Can get quite easily upset,

If their carefully prepared ensembles,

Get even the teensy-eensyist bit wet.

I’ll admit Rebecca did look quite stunning,

As we stood high atop a flowered hill,

Surveying a marvelous red rock canyon,

Which was magnificent - what a thrill.

Suddenly, and without warning,

A Spring rain shower did appear.

She rushed off to save her elegance;

I scrounged about for another beer.

The rain had made me quite thirsty,

While it had made her very upset.

 I mistakenly laughed out loud.

She’s not talking to me yet.

Bummer!
