A Follow-up Post to:

Oh, Woe is Me

Ye Who Cannot Laugh at Himself,

Has Never Stood Naked,

In Front of His Mirror.

                      Ancient Andy Proverb

Yesterday, to my chagrin, the world learned I had sappy lips,

I was extremely depressed at first, but now I’ve come to grips.

You, my good friends on AD, very quickly rallied to cheer me,

Your kind and gracious thoughts have now returned my glee.

Bless You All!

These are but a few of the wonderful and kind Good Will Notes,

And although I’m a very humble person, I think I shall gloat:

“Don’t Worry, Ed, Rufuz Still Loves You!”

                                                  Ed Matlack

“I don’t believe we have sappy lips

Here in North Yorkshire, Ed,

But I bet your cats love you anyway.”

                                                       Jacqueline Selby Brooks

“I’m so sorry, Ed.

I thought all you Yanks had sappy lips.”

                                                   Dani

“You don’t look so bad.

You look like the guy’s wife that is coming to visit us.”

                                                   Ted Sheridan

“Ed, you and Andy should be on TV.

Television adds 10 lbs. to the lips,

Or is that the hips?”

                                                     Floria Kelderhouse

“Cheer Up, Ed.

My grandsons think you’d look good,

On a Saturday morning cartoon show.”

                                                    Paul Berube

“Hang Tough, Ed,

And you’ll beat those

Sappy Lip Blues.”

                                                    Grady Morrison

“Ed, since you’re a vet,

I’d have to say sappy lips are OK.”

                                                     Lisa Hilbers

“Nice lips aren’t everything, Ed.

It’s what’s on the inside that counts.”

                                                       Franz Kessler

“Greetings, Poet and Author Ed Kostro,

Sappy Lips Matter Little,

In the Quest for Justice.”

Andre Emmanuel Bendavi Ben-YEHU

“My husband had sappy lips once,

But he got over it;

You can, too.”

                                                           Calendula Petal

“Dear Ed,

Some women may find sappy lips very attractive.

I don’t know any.  But they might!”

                                                       La Belle Rouge

“Well, I for one find you verrrrrrrrry attractive,

But then again, I am very lonely!”

Lady A Of the Human Factor

“Ed, May Your Twin Flame

Provide Solace, In Your Hour of Need.”

                                                   Vesna/Vanessa Perkovic

“Pretend that you don’t have sappy lips, Ed.

Acting is an Art; but with a little practice,

I think you’ll feel better in no time.”

                                              Carmen Ruggero

“Try lifting weights.

That should buff up

Your arms, chest, and sappy lips.

Peace.”

                                                     Handsum Hart

“Try collagen!”

                                                       Dale Clark

“Please remove all mirrors in your home,

Immediately!...”

                                                 Debashish Haar

“Perhaps you should move to Canada, Ed.

It’s very cold here,

And we all wear a lot of Chap Stick.

No one will even notice – your sappy lips.

Love and Peace.”

                                                       Regis Auffrey

“JAYSUS!

Do you know what the Vikings did

To men with sappy lips?

GRIN* Just Kidding, Sweetie!

C’mere, you silly, lippy Eddie K,

Smooooooooooooch!  There…better? Good! xox

                                                     katy walsvik

“The voluptuousness of one’s lips,

Does not determine the true character,

Of anyone.  Yours sort of remind me of

Julie Andrews or Basil Fawlty.

Night Night, God Bless, Sleep Well.”

                                                     Kate Burnside

“Don’t cry, Eddie.

Humidity can do terrible things to your hair,

And to your lips.”

                                                   Anna Marie Fritz

“Both criminals and law abiding citizens,

Can have sappy lips, Ed.”

                                                     William Bonilla

“Kiss Mamma and wipe your tears now okay!!

Mamma will trade you for no Other Ape okay!!”

                                                     Your Mother

“God still loves you, Ed,

Even if you do have sappy lips.”

                                                 George Carroll

“Good can be found in all things;

Even in sappy lips, my friend.”

                                                       Bhuwan Thapaliya

“A true poet would not let sappy lips

Interfere with the Creative Process.”

                                                  Robert (Jude)Ace Forese

“Nothing Wrong with Sappy Lips, Ed.

We’ll still post your poems at Mystic East.”

                                                      Lady Peg

“I’m going to write a Happy Sappy Song

For you, Ed.  That should cheer you up.”

                                                      Bill Murray

“Ed, you’re a good person.

I’m going to do a sketch of you,

With Nice Lips.”

                                        Ron (sketchman) Axelson

“Ed, I’ll send you a new pair of lips,

Left over from my serial killing days,

As soon as I unpack,

And find the right box.”

                                                     Kate Clifford

“I believe there is a cure for this.

Find a large mushroom

In a deep dark forest,

And rub it all over,

Your sappy lips.

Good Luck, Ed.”

                                                   Retta (Reindeer) Mckenzie

“{{{ed}}} Poor Baby!

Did this happen in a lightning storm?

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

{{{HUGS}}} Your Friends in Texas.”

                                                   Karen and Karla

“Stop standing in electrical storms

Trying to repeat Ben Franklin’s experiment,

And both your bad hair, and your sappy lips, should improve.”

                                                        cynth'ya lewis reed

“Tons and Tons of Hugs.”

                                                                   Linda Hill

                                                                   Trixie Love

                                                               Sandie Angel a.k.a. May Lu

                                                                    Tami Ryan

“Just remember that no matter what your lips look like,

You are still a ‘GOOD’ Animal Shape Shifter,

And my friend.”

                                               Eileen Teressa Waldron

“Native Americans have a legend

About a great warrior with sappy lips,

But I can’t remember his name.”

                                                                Claywoman

“Little Eddie, I Love You, My Baby Woe!”

                                               Baby Snuggles – A Reader

(I suspect Baby Snuggles really is:

My Dear Friend, Tinka Boukes)

 “You bloody great woosey!

Snap out of it, John Boy,

You hear me?!”

                                                              Andy Turner

And my very favorite Good Will Note,

Is:

“We have to chip in and send you on a very nice long VACATION!!”

                                                         Thomas Lanechanger

Thomas, Bless You, for your kindness and generosity,

You have truly truly filled my heart with joy and glee!

Please ask everyone to send the money to the Institute,

It’s located in London, England, on the Main Route.

Andy has been ‘bugging’ me all dog-gone night,

His evil old heart is now also filled with delight!

He says he and I should jet off to Jamaica real fast,

But, Thomas, uh, would you mind, signing our pass?

They won’t let us out without a responsible adult’s supervision,

But, Hey, Mon, Join Us in Jamaica, For Some Really Good Livin!

We can write off this wonderful trip as a business related venture,

Since we‘re scouting that location, for the next Piddles’ Adventure.

Again, God Bless You, Thomas Lanechanger

And For Those of You Who May Have Missed

The Exciting Conclusion of Book One of

The Adventures of Little Andy and His Insect Friends,

Please Read Our Final Post,

Elementary, Mr. Piddles!

And Don’t Miss Ed Matlack’s

Hilarious New Series

Of Author Roasts.

He is Taking Requests,

If You Would Like to be Next.

“Psst.  Hey, Ed!  Can we bring some nurses along to Jamaica?”

“Sorry, Andy.  Only room for you, me, Thomas, and Jodie Foster.”

“Jody Foster?”

“She still thinks I’m Evil Ed, and she wants to do more profiling.”

“You Bloody Yank!”

“Good Night, Andy!”

“Good Night, Evil Ed.”

Thanks for the privilege of caricature and Kristine Robin here, is waving a night-night paw with Pooh as we bump, bump, bump up the wooden hill to sleepytown...Love the visual, too, filled with Belle's Babes... but no frog-marching Singing Nun on this dream vacation, I notice... hmm, I'm disappointed... I would have thought The Institute would have done more for your rather fertile imagination - and Mick Jagger lips!! Makes me think "ooh, Sticky Fingers", but hey - behave! REALLY ENJOYED THIS AD ROMP!! TY Kate xxxxXXXXXX(and one for Edward Bear, too, says Mr Bean!!)

Ed I am glad to comment once more. I never had sappy lips or easy lips or taffy lips; but I used to open up my mouth to often, and once in a while I got a fat lips. How does that count. Write on MR. WRITER! Bill

Since I know you need a nice long vacation, and recharge your batteries this is what you’ll need to get out! Okay Poet, here is what you do. Hey, what are friends for anyways. So!

1. Take this signature card and present it to the Head Shrink, and I’m quite sure they will allow you to leave. Although I am not so sure about Sir Andy! We may have to sneak him out the back door.

2. I’ve already sent the ambulance to come pick you up tomorrow at the stroke of mid-night… don’t want the other guest tagging along, ( Don’t worry, you won’t have to wear that funny looking white jacket ), besides, it won’t match your flowered shirt.

3. When you get to airport, whatever you do “Do Not Speak!” Just hand them this note. You are booked on flight 101 need some fun in the sun Jamaica… it leaves out of Gate 2. I told them at the terminal, you need first class seats away from the rest of the passengers because you have a rare infection that can only be cured once you land in Jamaica. We have a nice bungalow to share, well actually, we have two of them. One is for those one on one sessions you’ll need to be interrogated by Jodi and the other is for creating the next Mr. Piddles Adventure..

4. What ever you do don’t tell anyone else what the plans are, or we will have to get a bigger plane, and with today’s fuel prices well… we won’t be able stay very long and soak up the sun.

Cheers. See you soon.
