Poem Artwork

How are your sappy lips?

                                    Tinka Boukes

In grimm fairy tales,
Princes transform into frogs. . .
Who'd wanna french that?

                                          cynth'ya lewis reed

Ed, one of these days,

You should get a new kisser.

                                       Eileen Teressa Waldron

Does Mick Jagger know you want new lips?

He might get jealous.

                                       Ron (sketchman) Axelson

Beware of what you create,

The results may return to bite you.

                                           Paul Berube

I am ecstatic to report

That lip surgery went well,

I now no longer live,

In my sappy lipped hell.

They took a little tissue,

And they took a little skin

From my buttocks region,

Where it wasn’t very thin.

They cut and they pasted,

They nipped and they tucked,

Joy, Oh, Utter Boundless Joy,

My two lips are now Deluxe.

I’ve been racing round the neighborhood,

Kissing everyone and thing in sight,

But I also fear that now, perhaps,

My neighbors have just a bit of fright.

I’ve been kissing the elderly residents,

I’ve been lip locking all the lovely trees,

I’ve been pecking all the tiny birdies,

And even a buzzing hive of bees.

I’ve been kissing little green froggies,

I’ve even smooched a cicada or two,

I can’t wait to kiss Sister Mary Margaret,

At Sunday Mass, in the second pew.

I’ve been kissing both my doggies,

I’ve been frenching with my wife,

I’ve been smooching all my cats,

Man, oh, Man, This is The Life!

So, Pucker Up, Everyone on AD,

I’m heading out on an epic new journey,

To smooch my way around the world,

Is now my passionate new yearning.

Please watch for news

Of the arrival of Smoochy Man,

Coming to your neighborhood soon.

When he does arrive, please assemble at dawn at curbside

Anyone or anything in your household that would like a smooch –

Humans, dogs, cats, hamsters, goldfish, potted plants, mother-in-laws, etc.,

Smoochy Man does not discriminate!

This could be Big – Lips Around the World -

I probably need a Theme Song and a Costume.

I wonder if ChapStick® might want to sponsor me?!

Ed, when and where we do meet someday, remember, a hand shake will suffice...hehe...BTW...the doctor's took skin from the same area on my anatomy for rebuilding the ear I wasn't born with...so I guess we have a lot in common!!! Becca, Does this mean when he says 'kiss my butt!' you really have to pucker?

I know someone who needs some smooches. I am now the proud mother of a new kitten. Only had him (her?) about an hour. I got him from a wonderful woman who fosters dogs and cats, puppies and kitties, and finds them wonderful new homes. This little kitty needs lots of attention. He is being traumatized from being separated from his mother (who was a stray). He's hiding, or trying to hide (I know where he's at.) It didn't take me long to name him--his official name is, "Frey D. Katt". (Middle name is "Dee". Pretty sure he's a he--she gave me his vet papers and it said, "male tabby". Mother's name is "Emma". Any advice you could give me would be appreciated. Kittmandu wasn't traumatized in the least when he came to live with us. Susan Sparks P.S. My AuthorsDen email is deleting my new emails (most of them). Not sure what the problem is--the old ones are not being touched.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

I'll be sure to hide from you; I don't like being kissed so much! I feel uncomfortable when people kiss me unless I know 'em well!

Blimey, Ed!!! the lips may be fixed and red hot ready to burn - but what about the white, hairy chin and the dewdrop nose?! Sorry, but can you send you monkey along instead... no offence, mate, but your picture above reminds me of my worst old aunt! Another time, perhaps, on your lap of honour when the stubble's been worn away a bit! If you have the energy, that is! Keep on with the oysters and rhino horn! Enjoy your trip! Kate xx

Thank you for my much needed laugh for the first one on a beautiful Saturday morning...Oh, I won't be at the curb, but I will leave Rufuz out there, but just remember he is a virgin and he might want more than a smooch! What a funny enjoyable write this is...Ed & Rufuz (smooch/woof)

Jaysus, Eddie, where do I begin? Try this: SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCH!!! I'll be on the curb and I'm bringing Howard the dustball.. he's NEVER been kissed and he's waaaaaaay past sweet 16!

Em.. is it only me or, considering the source of your new lips, does this mean I will be kissing your butt??? Egads! (giggle) Ah, what the hell.. I've done it before but they would have fired me if I didn't... never thought of that as something for pleasure!

This is the most fun poem I've read in 2004... maybe even 2003...before that, I'd have to check my calendar. hehehe...

When you get this silly, I giggle. (can you believe, I read Ted's poem that this inspired, first... sigh). Now I 'GET IT'.. I can't stop typing... See you at the curb around 10-ish.. I'll be the one wearing Sunset Peach and perfectly puckered! (bring a frog) katy xox.
