Poem Artwork

”Hey, my picture and that of Rufuz,

Surely do present an "air" to your site;

You should use our pictures more often!!”

                                                Ed Matlack

“Ooooooo... do you squeak, EddieM?

Lemme see.......

So, now, what am I gonna do with 47 bars of Ivory soap

I was planning to send for your Christmas melt-down?

Sigh... good job, Petunia!”

                                                katy walsvik xox

“Please post my latest poem.

Thanks!”

HEAVEN SENT

By Rufuz

There truly must be a God

In the sky so heavenly blue

And He must truly love us doggies

Because to my request He was so true

I had prayed with all my canine heart

That my human would finally take a shower

And Praise Be To The Lord Almighty

We now cavort in gorgeous little flowers

The neighbors were beginning to wonder

What that odor was in our house

So they crept into our yard one night

As quiet as any country mouse

And Lo and Behold and Scooby Doo

My human now smells as lovely as a rose

They had quickly escorted him outside

And sprayed him down with our garden hose

Although his quest to break the Dirty Man Record

Has now been very quickly shattered

When he saw all the food the neighbors brought

He no longer thought that really mattered

They had prepared a fabulous box lunch

And also planted these lovely lovely flowers

We are now eating quite well out here

As we tiptoe through the petunias for hours

Even the air in our flower-filled yard

Must have truly been Heaven sent

My canine nostrils can finally breathe again

Don’t even care where that nasty smell went

And one of my human’s many friends

Has now named him Petunia Ed

Thanks to God and to our neighbors

Petunia no longer smells like he is dead

So if you want to keep your doggie happy

Take a shower at least once a day

And please stop and smell the flowers

As you both head out to play

Rufuz is really churning out some heartfelt writes lately, isn’t he?

And he’s been sending my dogs lots of happy e-mails, too.

He truly is a happy critter again.

Remember the old saw "Dogs get fed, petted, bathed, loved, and they
look starry-eyed at their master, and say:"
"He must be a God."
Cats get the same treatment, and say:
"He (she) treats me so wonderful...I must be a God!."

Cute poem, Eddie!

Dear Rufuz

Well thank you sweet K-9 for your delightful tale, so glad to hear your K-9 nostrils are breathing beautiful fragrances once again, but you mustn't forget to thank Uncle Eddie.

Dear Rufuz, I'm so glad you don't have to put up with that smell anymore and happy to see you're getting your feelings out in this way....it's very therapeutic, especially considering what you've had to go through!!

Dear Uncle lil' Eddie K,
I really appreciate you telling people what I say,
And you're right, living with dad again is like a ray,
Of sunshine and moonbeam just like the old days,
Before daddy did undertake his desire to be dirty,
Glad I did not know him way back when he was thirty,
He did so then and got away with it, no doggy in his life then...

Every human should go and adopt a doggy or kitty,
We can keep you all str8 as we are more than enough very witty,
I hope you all have liked this my special little ditty...

As dad would say, Keep Peace in Your Hearts, Rufuz (oh yeah & ED)

Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered... this is the life, sometimes, of our dear pets... yet they love us unconditionally, thank God!

Rufuz, me sweet, once again you demonstrate why you are a Pulitzer recipient, and why you are Eddie M's best friend.

Uncle Eddie K finds great inspiration in your daddy and you... and we find great inspiration from Uncle Eddie K. This is a lovely thing! Arf!
