I often find it is quite difficult

To select a friend’s birthday present

I always attempt to ensure

That it contains just the right sentiment

This year I just could not decide

Among a teddy bear with a Union Jack

A pair of extra large boxer shorts

Or a scrumptious butterball turkey snack

So I hugged the teddy bear for inspiration

As we sat down to a fabulous turkey dinner

Later as I paced the floor in my underwear

A thought began to slowly emerge and simmer

Since I definitely liked all three of these things

And I felt all three were oh so dandy

I decided not to be selfish or greedy

And I’ve sent all three gifts to Andy

Andy my dear old chum

I hope you like these gifts

And being a true friend

I also include these tips

The teddy bear is a tad soiled

My two dogs slobbered all over it

But the turkey is still fresh and cooked

I only let my family eat just a tiny bit

And when you receive this underwear

May I suggest you wash it before you wear

One just never knows where underwear’s been

Before being sent all the way over there
