They’re a savvy police undercover detective team

Who were first worked together back in Germany

Now they work the streets and casinos and hotels

Of a thriving metropolis that seldom ever sleeps

He poses as a fast talking Yellow Cab Driver

Always listening to his passengers for new tips

She poses as a wealthy casino patron and gambler

And together they hope to clean up the entire strip

They specialize in breaking up and arresting

Members of very large organized theft rings

And these two undercover cops never know

What the very next undercover day may bring

In their first issue of Atlantic City Undercover

They hear about a greyhound dog theft operation

And they attempt to tip off Ruff ‘N Ready Rufuz

Knowing he’s the best pet detective in the entire nation

“This is Roger on the radio,

Callin out to Rufuz…”

“Roger?”

“Who is this?

Don’t you know you’re supposed to wait

Until I relay the information to say, ‘Roger?’”

“Huh?!

‘This is Matlack, spelled with an ‘a,’

Not an ‘o,’ like that other old guy

On that TV show.

Rufuz isn’t here right now.”

“I need to talk to Rufuz

right away,

about a dog theft ring

we’ve discovered,

Over.”

“Over?

No, this is Matlack, with an ‘A.’”

“Huh?!”

Already frustrated at this point in the conversation,

Roger hands the radio to his lovely undercover partner

“This is Birgit, we need to talk to Rufuz.”

“Birgit?

Like in Birgit Bardot,

The French Actress,

And Animal Lover?

WOW!”

“No, like in Birgit,

The Undercover Cop,

You Goof Ball,

Over.”

“Listen, Lady,

I already told that other guy,

My name’s Matlack with an ‘A,’

Not ‘Over.’”

“Huh?!”
