The first day on a cruise

Is filled with anticipation

Salt air filling one’s lungs

Truly a marvelous sensation

Meeting many new friends

From places all over the world

Dreaming about what lies ahead

As now the deep blue ocean unfurls

Wondering what magnificent sea creatures

Are swimming along just below the waves

Dreaming about the ship’s first port of call

Longing to experience new things that I crave

Marveling at the very first glorious sunset

As it casts its golden net over a tranquil sea

Rushing to the best vantage point before dawn

Anticipating a magnificent sea sunrise with glee

Visiting so many exotic and interesting ports of call

Learning a little about different cultures on this earth

Setting sail for new adventures on the glorious ocean

Always fills my heart and soul with happiness and mirth

Each and every time that I’ve returned from a sail

My memories of new places and friends that I’ve met

Make me long for the next time I can inhale that salt air

And discover more of earth’s wonders I haven’t seen yet

I think if I had both the time and the needed resources

I would spend the rest of my days sailing the seven seas
