“I have discovered by examining my past,
That I started out as a child.
Coincidentally, so did my brother.
But he was a big bully.”
Bill Cosby
I will never forget that hot miserable summer
When I worked as a caddy with my brother Ed
He forced me to carry all those heavy golf clubs
And my back always ached at night lying in bed
And the whoppers he told our dear old mother
About how he - Big Ed - had to do all the work
If dear old Mom only knew the horrible truth
And to this day she still thinks I’m a lazy jerk
He never even shared any of the money we made
He would use it to buy himself ice cream and pie
And he always had candy bars hidden in his sack
To this day when I see a potato sack I want to cry
And I’ve just seen in his recent Author’s Den poem
That he’s still ravenous now wanting to barbeque me
I guess it’s a good thing that I ran away from home
Or today I might be a Big Ed Happy Meal Memory

However, my sister had always been very sharing, and she shared her many toys from that big box with me. She wasn't a bully at all.
I was about 7 when I joined back with my mom and dad.
Your poem reminds me how lucky I was to have such a wonderful sister, when my mom was not too available at times.
Nice photo.! and a thought-provoking poem! I know how some siblings are jealous of each other and create misery for each other. I hope your mom will realize one day the real you.

I have four brothers but they were good to me.
Just the usual sibling bickering.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)
If he were to answer he would as well say of course,
But we cannot replace all those good times, Mr. Ed the horse,
I have felt this coming for quite sometime,
Though in the end you will be the one feeling remorse...
Sincerely, the "younger" brother Ed
The games continue...I remember my older (only) brother tormenting me unmercifully *head noogies*, I'd get so mad at him! He was highly allergic to poison ivy; had to get shots, it was so bad. When I'd had enough, I'd go sit in a patch of it (never broke me out) and then chase him--you ought to have seen him run!! (Never touched him, didn't have to, he knew I'd won.) Thanks for the memories in this delightful series...but I fear your elder brother will have a response!
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
